One of the most highly anticipated weekends in the Irish calendar is fast approaching. Forbidden Fruit weekend is 3 days of sunshine, dancing and enjoying your favourite acts from all around the world. We here at Ibiza Club News have picked 6 acts from the star studded line up below that you need to check out if you’re heading to Royal Kilmainham Hospital.

Idris Elba

Having conquered the big screen and becoming one of the biggest stars in the world, Idris Elba has now slowly been taking the dance music world by force. Having stepped behind his first set of decks at the age of 14 and instantly falling in love with playing music, Idris, now 45, has been a mainstay on the festival circuit, performing at Glastonbury, Elrow Town and now one of Ireland’s most lucrative platforms, Forbidden Fruit.

Stephan Bodzin

A bucket list act for many dance music enthusiasts, Stephan Bodzin will be taking his extraordinary live set to the Royal Kilmainham Hospital and perform one of his trademark sets to the Irish crowd. We’re very excited to see what he brings to the table.

DJ Seinfeld

DJ Seinfeld is the prime example of how fast an act can blow up in the modern music industry. Producing music from his bedroom in Barcelona just under two years ago, to selling out venues all over the world. We’re looking forward to hearing his combination of his trademark Lo-Fi sound and some old school detroit house.

A fan favourite in Dublin. Bicep are masters at creating music influenced by the old school 90s rave scene with a modern day dance music spin. The Belfast duo are in for a busy weekend, playing at their hometown festival AVA and straight down to give the people of Dublin what they want. These lads are a must see if you’re looking to be brought back to the 90s!

Four Tet

Four Tet is the epitome of a true genius in electronic music with a wealth of experience behind him. He’s worked with music royalty in the past, collaborating with Radiohead, Bloc Party and Burial to name just a few. His BBC Radio 1 essential mix with Jamie xx is one of our all time favourites. Four Tet is coming off of his massive remix of “Opal” by the aforementioned Bicep. It’s in line for being the track of the year. Do yourself a favour and check out a genius go to work.

Richie Hawtin

No introduction is needed for the techno royalty that is Richie Hawtin. The man behind the “Plastikman” alias is on his way to Forbidden Fruit this Saturday with his iconic “Close” set which has been selling out venues all around the world. We have been lucky enough to catch Richie perform a number of times, but each time he brings something completely different to the table. There’s no reasons needed as to why Richie Hawtin is our number 1 pick of the weekend.
