6 Things We’re Most Looking Forward To At Electric Picnic!

Ah, Electric Picnic! One of the longest running festivals in Ireland and most successful at that! Being around for almost 15+ years, it’s been the godfather of all festivals in the country and without it, who really knows where the Irish festival scene would be! 

Taking place on the 31 – 2 September, the crews Electric Picnic is preparing their final touches for this year’s edition as we speak! What is it about EP that attracts so many every year? Is it the acts who play, the crowds that go, the food, the stages, or the whole experience in one? One thing’s for sure, we’re extremely excited to get back there next week!

The Lineup

When it comes to the lineups at EP, they’re always one of the most varied and strongest in the country by a mile! Touching on some of the finest DJs in electronic music, live acts, band, spoken poetry + more! But here at Ibiza Club News, we’re all about the electronic dance music. In saying that, EP has got a jam-packed line-up consisting of names like The Prodigy, Nina Kraviz, Denis Sulta, Joey Negro, DJ Koze, Mall Grab, Peggy Gou, Krystal Klear, Andrew Azara, George Feely, Tommy Holohan + Boots & Kats.

The Irish Crowd

Whenever you think “What’s the best crowd in the world?”, your mind seems to always drift towards the good old Irish! The Irish are quite renowned on a global scale to have some of the best fans in the world, and that all correlates exactly with their crowd’s at festivals! Electric Picnic, in particular, attracts over 70,000 Irish people across the country and from experience, you’re gonna be leaving this festival with some incredible new Irish friends.

The Prodigy

The Prodigy is back! Considered to be one the of the biggest trio’s in electronic music, and being the leading force of rave music in the early 90’s, it’s always an absolute show-stopping performance from the trio whenever and wherever they go! Expect heavy hitting breakbeat, hardcore, techno, acid vibes with these guys!


The camping aspect of any festival is always a very intimate experience for anybody! Sitting around a circle with some of your best friends, a speaker on music duty, drinking your body weight in cans, your luxurious 5 euro camping chair on support and of course your tent fit for a king. Some people would almost go to say that the camping side of festivals is one of the best parts!

Body & Soul Area

For anyone who isn’t in the know, Body & Soul runs their very own festival outside of Electric Picnic! In saying that, they’ve become quite iconic in their own right. Recognized for their out of this world experience with art installations fit for a fairy-tale, some of the most beautifully curated stages with every genre of music you could imagine. All we can say is, make sure to make it your mission to visit this incredible area.

Casa Bacardi Stage

Considered to be one of the best stages in Ireland, The Casa Bacardi Stage has become nothing short of legendary at Electric Picnic! What started out originally as a tent, over the years Casa Bacardi is now one of the main spots to be across the whole weekend. With its house like appearance, insane sound system, extremely in-depth visuals and some of the finest cocktails in the festival, it’s a must-go-to across the weekend!
