Warriors fight for the attention of clubbers on Sunday nights for the fifth season running in 2016. Spearheaded by Steve Lawler, they have endeared partygoers at Sankeys with the finest tech house since the onset.

Taking control of the Lab four times for Warriors this summer is Sante and Sidney Charles, two of the most promising house producers of the moment. They’ve risen separately since the turn of the decade, both releasing on Steve’s VIVa Music and have united in Ibiza during seasons past. They’ve cultivated a great partnership who have at least three things in common: they share the first letter of artist names, their motherland Germany, and lastly, they know how to work a floor and simultaneously break it into pieces.

Returning this summer to Sankeys after a year away, Sante and Sidney team up behind the decks. Their first scheduled appearance in early July brought out the masses with their unmistakable smiling faces. In testament to their popularity, the Lab was packed out, with everyone putting their best dancing foot forward. Props go to Warriors’ programming for making the main event happen in the Lab as well as the Basement.

Steve Lawler sits at the helm of Warriors previously named Viva Warriors. Lawler is dubbed king of the basement, and this title goes undisputed when you encounter his know-how of handling the room. Keeping everyone on their toes with his bold branding of house music.

New York export Dennis Ferrer was in the house after 5am and true to form he mixed in the sermon from “Can You Feel It” by Mr Fingers, one of the first points of reference for dance music fans. Dennis Ferrer enhanced the massive sound system in the Basement perfectly, his skill of mixing explicit vocals on Gene Farris – ‘The Way U Like’ with enticing rhythms was remarkable.

Sante and Sidney Charles were still going strong back in the Lab, their B2B proves no challenge and they bounce off each other no questions asked. Sidney has a history of making whopping tunes, his latest one ‘House Is All I Need’ kicked up a fuss on the floor. I’ve braved Sankeys many times but as a first-time Warriors visitor, from my entrance to departure this was the busiest I had seen the club, and my first chance to experience all three rooms open. It’s clear that Lawler’s loyalty to the club continues to pay off.

Sante & Sidney Charles go B2B again in the Lab on July 24, August 7, and August 21.
