We’re crossing our fingers for you here but it has been announced that there will be 25 days of strikes planned from mid-September in Ibiza’s airport.
Union representatives of staff working for the Spanish Airport authority AENA have revealed that they will be beginning strikes on the 15th of September and running on select dates right up until December.
Each day of strike will last 24 hours and will affect all Spanish airports, including the Ibiza airport. The strikes, which started in spring of this year, are over a dispute surrounding pay.
A few months previous, Ibiza’s airport was buried under rubbish when the cleaning and security staff went on strike when the flights were in full swing for the beginning of the season.
The striking will take place on the following dates:
September: 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th
October: 1st, 6th, 11th, 15th, 27th, 30th, 31st
November: 3rd, 5th
December: 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th
Here’s hoping it doesn’t affect your travel plans!
